Feng Shui For Business ~ The Fundamentals of Money Chi

by Sharda Chaitanya

The reception area is the "face" of the company.  Here it is open and welcoming - enhancing positive Chi by the use of rounded edges and surfaces within the design.

There is only one reason anyone ever wants to do Feng Shui in their place of business, and that is to create more income.  If a business is thriving, everything else falls into place - owners are happy, workers are happy, creditors are happy.  Good Money Chi changes the entire dynamic of the work environment, and thus, the outgoing energy responds accordingly.  Conversely, the energy we want to attract by first placing it in the appropriate area, will respond to the positive Chi that has been implemented. The universal tenet of Feng Shui applies here as everywhere, and that is the placement of key items/objects are situated for the best possible flow of energy in the room (or office or warehouse), whichever is the focus of the consultation, with the intention of receiving the desired results.

For equipment or other items in the business that are stationary, for example, machinery or shelving, or pillars, for example, that are not located in a favorable spot, then Feng Shui cures are in order.  The goal is to be sure that the energy which affects money is developed by eliminating whatever might be creating a blockage.  Just about anything which is out of alignment and disruptive to the flow of  positive energy can be remedied by "adjusting" the problem with a cure, or cures, specific to that issue.  As well, the cures needn't be in contrast to the aesthetic of the space - cures can easily blend in so as not to appear obtrusive, or they can be hidden completely.  That does not inhibit their effectiveness in accomplishing a shift in the energy of the space.

Three Key Issues Affecting the Feng Shui of the Business:

The properly placed desk offers you security and strength while inspiring you to achieve your career goals.

The location of the owner's office and the placement of the desk and chair in that office.

In the overall layout of the floor plan, the office and the desk (and chair!) of the owner is key.  The office will be in one of the 9 guas, or areas, of the larger workplace.  Once we determine which gua is most influential, we proceed to enhance it based on those cures which will compliment that area, combined with aspects of wealth Chi for the purpose of creating income.  It is essential that the elements (air, fire, water, wood, etc.) that influence that gua are balanced.  As well, the desk must be placed in the command position, appropriate to the title of president or CEO, for example.

The Location and Condition of the Front Entrance

The front door to the building or the main door to the place of business (whichever applies) needs to have particular qualities such as ease of access (the door swings opening and does not stick or creak), what kinds of things are in the immediate area of the entrance, visibility, and so forth.   This is a common problem just about everywhere, and it is one of the simplest things to adjust.  Good lighting, attractive objects or auspicious symbolism are some of the ways to perk up the front entrance.  First impressions count, even if it's the same people who will see it everyday.  In fact, particularly if the same people have to see it everyday.  Also, having the name of the company prominently displayed is an excellent way to attract wealth - the wealth Chi can find you more easily if you identify yourself.  It is like an energy signature.  A footnote here:  the spatial relationship of the owners desk or office to the door is extremely important.

The Location of the Cash Register or of the Bookkeeper's/Accountant's Office or Desk

This is the area that contains hard cash and/or represents the income of the business.  This is a very important spot in any business, and one that is often taken for granted.  Lots of fun and easy enhancements to the flow of positive wealth Chi can be done here - and there are 1,000 different ways to add money luck to this part of the office.  As well, raising the vibration of the Chi will affect the persons working in that vicinity, thus creating a sense of well-being, which in turn boosts morale.

An airy, well-lit office space gives lots of elbow room, creates a sense of calm and enhances productivity.

Positive, up-lifting Chi is essential to not only the business but for those that work there, from the top on down.  Feng Shui creates an unseen, but very palpable energy in and around the space.  This energy infuses the environment with a subtle sense of balance and harmony.  When the operation is running smoothly as a result, business is naturally going to improve.  The way of doing business is changing - and Feng Shui is at the leading edge of implementing the new paradigm in work environments.
